Unless you’re in a media free zone you’ve heard the results of the New Hampshire primary. While Hilary Clinton’s win over Barack Obama was certainly a surprise, the shocker of the day came from Arizona Senator John McCain’s victory over Mitt Romney.
While Iowan women voted overwhelmingly for Obama in the caucus last week the women of New Hampshire were decidedly pro Clinton. There’s some speculation that it was her show of emotion (welling up about…well nothing really) at a campaign event Monday gave her a much needed boost.
There’s also speculation that the display was more a calculated and shrewd move by a political veteran more than a real display of vulnerability.
The New Hampshire primary was the final nail in the coffin that was New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson’s campaign. While his resume was impressive, spanning decades, offices, and administrations, he didn’t have the star power of Obama and Clinton and came in a distant 4th place in New Hampshire, announcing his withdrawal from the campaign Wednesday.

Obama supporters need not weep yet, the Nevada primary is right around the corner and is considered more important than New Hampshire and the 60,000 Culinary Workers Union announced their support of the Illinois Senator.
