Thanksgiving is the harbinger of more significant milestones than my birthday.
Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, heralds Christmas shopping and is one of the biggest shopping days of the year.
Retailers aren’t the only ones that benefit from the boon. In the U.S. Thanksgiving weekend is peak traveling season. Even with gasoline prices climbing steadily at a time when they’re generally on the downhill portion of the race, AAA predicts 38.7 million of us will hit the roads this year.

Thanksgiving is also a somber holiday for many people, most especially Native Americans.
I’m thankful for many things this year; I’ve prioritized my health and continue to lose weight, I’m climbing out of debt, I have a tight-knit family, a wonderful boyfriend and a great dog. I hope all my readers reflect use this week to reflect on blessings this year’s brought and have a very happy Thanksgiving!
Tanya, thanks for this reminder that we all ought to stop and choose to be grateful for our amazing gifts, blessings and fortuitous circumstances.
