Kapalua Resort launches energy conservation initiative with MicroPlanet Products – pilot test conducted to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Kapalua Resort,
The results of the first pilot site indicate that the technology is saving 12.87% on
kWh consumption and reducing kVAR (demand) by 34.48% for the entire commercial building in the pilot site at Kapalua Resort. The equipment is expected to have a payback period of less than three years.
Cliff Smith, Development Manager for Maui Land & Pineapple Company (MLP), remarked, “We were impressed with the results of the pilot tests and see the see the implementation of MicroPlanet technology at Kapalua as the perfect opportunity to be true to our vision of wise stewardship with the added benefit of reducing costs.”
MicroPlanet’s technology helps to reduce the total amount of energy production needed by significantly increasing the efficiency of the electric grid. MicroPlanet’s products dynamically manage the voltage delivered to a business or home to optimal levels, which saves energy, lowers electricity bills and helps reduce
greenhouse emissions. These products can also reduce peak period demand and improve utility services.
“The partnership with MLP is a significant event for MicroPlanet. It is further validation that our commercial 3-phase products are being rapidly adopted by clients to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse emissions,” said Bruce Lisanti, President and CEO of MicroPlanet.
