Disney's (DIS) Web sites, which include the popular ESPN.com, ABC.com and Disney.com, have bee
n among the Internet's most visited, according to this NYTimes.com article.
The word is Robert A. Iger, Disney chief executive, will be introducing a new Disney.com Web site that has taken more than a year to design. He is expected to reveal the new and improved Web site at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Jan. 8.
Nielsen ratings place the company ranking as No. 9 overall among sites visited at home and work but there are those critics who say the homepage, for a lot of the company's online offerings, looks amateurish and is hard to navigate. The new Web site was shown off recently at a company meeting in Orlando, Fla.
Mr. Iger has considered the revamping of the clumsy Web site as his No. 1 priority with hopes to extend the Disney brand by embracing new digital media. The difficulty he faces is in handling the infighting over who is in charge of wh
at in the company's Internet properties.
