
The 2008 Ford (F) Escape made its world debut with both regular and hybrid powertrains. More than 1 million Escapes have been sold since its introduction six years ago, making it the best-selling compact SUV in America.![]()
The diversity of the Ford brand is made evident in its latest Ford Mustang, debuted in Los Angeles recently. The one-of-a-kind concept car is clearly based on a Mustang but with the sleeker more powerful look of its Italian designers. It doesn't just look more powerful with a supercharged Ford racing engine producing 500 horsepwoer under the hood.
Fabrizio Giugiaro, styling director of Italdesign, took just four months to complete an exterior model in the family's studios in Turin, Italy. J. Mays, Ford Motor Co. group vice president of design and chief creative officer states that although it's unlikely there will ever be more than one "Mustang with an Italian suit," there will be plenty of Ford Escapes.
