
Of the 47 listed on the most reliable new cars for 2007, 39 were from Japanese automakers, including Toyota Motor Corp. (TM) with an industry-leading 21. Honda Motor Co. Ltd. (HMC) came in second with 11 vehicles, including their newest release the Honda Fit hatchback.
Ford has been moving away from its loss-making trucks and SUV's and put in a good showing with several of their new cars scoring well. Their Ford Fusion topped the list of the most impressive new models. The Fusion and the Mercury Milan even outscored V6 versions of the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry in the most reliable family cars category.
