
One-month supplies of 314 different prescriptions are now available in 2,507 stores with Wal-Mart having added 14 states last week.
Customer demand has led to a faster roll out of the plan then expected. Analysts say more customers will be drawn in by the plan and then will shop in other store departments. This will be another segment of the retailing industry--the drug store business--wherein Wal-Mart can make their mark.
The constroversy continues with union-backed critics accusing the company of diverting attention from their own employee health insurance plan, which detractors say does not provide adequate coverage.
