
Jenness, who has been on Kellogg's board since 2000 and was named chief executive in 2004, will stay on as chairman. Jenness was preceded by Carlos M. Gutierrez, who was chosen to be commerce secretary by President Bush.
Mackay was long thought to be the next in line for the chief executive's job. He joined the company in 1985 in Australia. He will be receiving an annual base salary of $1.1 million.
