Is Viacom Slow To Embrace The Internet?

Viacom Inc. (VIA-B) has been criticized in the past by some on Wall Street for moving too slowly to embrace the Interent, according to this CNNMoney.com article. The new CEO of Viacom told investors today that is is hunting for small acquisitions to boost its presence online.

The company, which owns cable networks MTV, Nickelodeon and the Paramount movie studio, has had underperforming shares especially when compared to rivals Walt Disney Co. (DIS) and News Corp. Both of these competitors have been praised for their digital strategies.
