
Due to the threat of heavy fines being imposed by the officials of four Nordic countries, Apple Computer Inc. (AAPL) might making major changes to their iTunes business model.
iTunes currently prevents customers from using the songs they buy on music devices that compete with Apple's iPod players and the restriction and other aspects of the way iTunes works violates consumer protection laws in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, the NYTimes.com reports.
Apple hopes to resolve these issues as quickly as possible which also include the refusal to accept liability for any damage its iTunes software might do to a computer as well as their claim of a right to change contract terms after a song has been purchased.
