
Time Warner Inc. (TWX) owned AOL and Mark Burnett, the creator of "Survivor" have teamed up to offer Gold Rush, an online game which they hope will become a national sensation in keeping with the TV reality show.
The game promises to give away $100,000 in gold twice a week for seven weeks culminating in a $1 million contest. In the game, online contestants answer pop-culture questions until they reach a 13th level. The first three who answer correctly are then given tickets to a series of cities where Burnett will produce an online game show to determine the winner.
Gold Rush has attracted five main advertisers-Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. (CCE), Best Buy Co. Inc. (BBY), Washington Mutual Inc. (WM), Chevrolet, a division of General Motors Corporation (GM) and T-Mobile, according to this NYTimes.com article.
