
Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) and BellSouth Corp. (BLS) DSL customers won't see a reduction in their bills despite an elimination of a special fee that had been added on to pay for a federal program.
Last year, the Federal Communications Commission altered how they classify DSL services, which resulted in the elimination of a fee charged to all DSL subscribers to help pay into a Universal Service Fund.
Verizon and BellSouth customer's have paid from $1.25 to $2.97per month for this fee yet neither company will pass those savings onto their customers.
