Manhattan Condo Prices Increase Even As Sales Slump

According to this MSN MoneyCentral article Manhattan apartment prices have been boosted to new records in the second quarter despite a 14.8 percent drop in sales. This is attributed to street bonuses, foreign buyers, and a strong local economy.

The average price per square foot rose 11.6 percent to a record $1,083 over $970 in the second quarter of 2005 and compared with the prior quarter's $1004. That is one expensive bite of apple!
