Kenneth L. Lay, convicted of fraud in the Enron debacle, died of an apparent heart attack at a rental property in Old Snowmass, Colorado, according to this WashingtonPost.com article.
Lay faced the prospect of spending the rest of his life in prison after his conviction by a Houstaon jury in May. He was in the middle of an appeal so it is likely his conviction will be thrown out and no monetary damages will be sought.
