
The logo change isn't the only change on Wal-Mart's horizon. The behemoth retailer spoke of other changes at their annual meeting while protestors had a thing or two to speak about as well.
Protesters assembled near the company's headquarters in Bentonville, Ark., even at locations across the country, to draw attention to the wages and health benefits of the retailers lowest-level workers. Wal-Mart chief executive H. Lee Scott Jr. spoke of sweeping transformations including expanding health benefits and streamlining store operations.
Some changes are being made in an attempt to regain from a sales growth slump, one that their chief rival, Target Corp., has avoided. These changes range from updating stores with more modern designs to adding trendy merchandise. A bit trendy herself, Beyonce sang as part of the entertainment at the annual meeting.

At one point, an actor dressed like the blue star that replaced the famous squiggle in Wal-Mart's logo lectured store associates about the transformation at the company.
"Change is very cool. Change is positive," he said. "Look at me, I went from a squiggle to a star, and I never looked better."
