No matter your views, the fact is that cars that run on alternative fuel such as ethanol, electricity, biodiesel, and natural gas are seeing an increase in sales and interest nationwide.
With the public becoming more aware of choices, the industry responding by adding more plants that produce alternative fuels and car manufacturers offering more choices in the cars that run on them the trend is growing.
For example, GMC is raising awareness with it's "Live Green, Go Yellow" campaign, educating consumers on its alcohol-based gas additive made largely from corn. Then there is DaimlerChrysler AG who has pledged to build 500,000 ethanol-fuel-ready vehicles annually, while WalMart states they are considering selling E85 at their gas stations, numbering almost 400.
